Women’s anti-discrimination panel opens session at UN

The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) set up to monitor compliance with a landmark treaty on the issue today opened its session at United Nations Headquarters in New York with plans to review reports from Mauritania, Serbia, Syria, Mozambique, Niger, Pakistan, Sierra Leone and Vanuatu.

UN counter-terrorism body launches online information assistance

In its continuing bid to help countries bolster their ability to fight terrorism around the globe, the Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) has launched an online database containing information about technical assistance both requested by and provided to States.
