Amidst a background of rising concern surrounding the impact that man-made climate change is having on the planet, this year’s UN climate conference, COP26, has a particular urgency.
 

This year, the eyes of the world will be on the politicians, Heads of State, and the tens of thousands of businesses, activists, and citizens, who are gathering in the Scottish city of Glasgow to reach agreement on how to tackle a global crisis that many see as an existential threat.

Why are astronauts growing food in space?

World leaders convene in Glasgow this weekend for the UN Climate Conference, COP26, to finalise the full implementation of the Paris Agreement.

While human activity has already influenced the climate, there are still plenty of opportunities to mitigate its effects on the planet.

Back in April, four astronauts, including FAO Goodwill Ambassador Thomas Pesquet, travelled into space.

When a new coal project was quietly announced, Chibeze Ezekiel began mobilizing his community to resist, by educating them about the danger of fossil fuels. In the end, Goliath was no match for Mr. Ezekiel's “submarine” campaign, and Ghana went on to commit to renewable energy for all future projects.
