At Brussels conference, Ban spotlights crisis in Central African Republic

Stating that the world failed to stop the Central African Republic’s slide “into a grave political, economic and humanitarian crisis,” United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today urged African and European leaders meeting in Brussels to act quickly to end the killing, protect civilians and prevent further sectarian strife, including through the deployment of a UN peacekeeping force.

On World Day, Ban urges renewed efforts to help persons affected by autism realize full potential

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon marked World Autism Awareness Day with a call to action – urging the international community to take part in fostering progress for those affected by autism “by supporting education programmes, employment opportunities and other measures that help realize our shared vision of a more inclusive world.”

South Sudan: harassment of staff draws concern of UN mission
