ADDIS: strong partnerships needed to turn billions into trillions for sustainable development

Achieve the future sustainable development agenda and the goal of ending extreme poverty will require strong and creative partnerships to turn billions in official assistance into trillions in investments, the President of the World Bank Group stressed today at an event on the sidelines of the United Nations conference on financing for development.

ADDIS: UN chief hails key role of civil society in financing future development agenda

As Member States press on with efforts to reach agreement on a plan to secure the necessary financing for sustainable development, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today told civil society organizations gathered in Addis Ababa that their role is vital in keeping governments accountable and ensuring that the voices of billions around the world are heard.
