Violence and insecurity in Iraq have caused children and teenagers serious psychological problems, such as post- traumatic stress disorder and extreme anxiety.

That’s according to Abdulwahed Abdullah, a psychologist at Terre des Hommes, a UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) partner organization that deals with child migration.

More than 3 million people are currently displaced across Iraq, including 130,000 people who have fled Mosul since the military offensive to retake the city began in October 2016.

Andita Listyarini has the story of 11-year-old Ahmed, who was traumatized after seeing his father beheaded by terrorist group ISIL.
