The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) are working to reach 20 million children in a region which has not seen the disease for nearly a decade.

A recent outbreak of polio in northeastern Syria has left 10 youngsters paralyzed.

To find out more about the campaign, UN Radio’s Reem Abaza spoke on the line to Syria to Elizabeth Hoof, WHO representative in the country.
