Experts meeting at the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva today begin discussions on racism and the Internet and other related issues.

During their two-week session, an intergovernmental working group set up to follow-up on decisions made at the 2001 World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Durban, South Africa.

Following their discussions of racism and the Internet, the participants will turn their attention to how well international standards in combating racism complement each other.

The second week of the session will focus on a thematic analysis of the issue of globalization and racism.
