The humanitarian crisis in Iraq has been declared by the United Nations as its highest level of emergency.

Attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) have forced thousands of people, mainly from minority groups to flee their homes.

According to UN estimates, there are now more than 1.2 million internally displaced persons in Iraq.

Eliana Nabaa, spokesperson for the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), explained to Patrick Maigua what the declaration of a “Level 3 emergency” for Iraq means.
