Twin activists from Ghana are praying for the day when a child born with albinism “will not be met with scorn, scandal and spectacle.”

Mawunyo Yakor-Dagbah and her sister Mawuse Yakor-Hamidu both have the condition, which is characterized by lighter than normal skin, eye and hair colour.

They were at UN Headquarters taking part in the Conference of State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities this week, and for this edition of our UN and Africa podcast, Dianne Penn spoke to them about their lives and passionate advocacy for persons with disabilities.
