South Sudan is one of the worst countries in the world to be a girl, according to an NGO there marking the UN International Day of the Girl Child on Tuesday.

Save the Children says that 52 per cent of girls are married before the age of 18, and do not enjoy the same access to education as boys.

Joseph Akech is a Policy and Advocacy Director with Save the Children.

Sebit William asked him what it’s like to be a girl in South Sudan.
