A new app has been developed by a young entrepreneur in Ghana, which allows patients in remote areas to “see” a doctor, over their mobile phone.

At present, there is less than one doctor for every 5,000 people in the West African country.

But Raindolf Owusu hopes that his BISA app will help close the gap, and he’s enlisted the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO) to provide information and expertise.

The app connects patients to a doctor on any mobile device, so they can seek potentially life-saving advice.

Mr Owusu told Peter Forster what challenges Ghanians face seeing a doctor the traditional way.
