The deliberate starvation of people in Syria is being used as a weapon of war, according to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon.

The civil war in Syria is about to enter its sixth year.

The UN estimates that more than 250,000 people have died there and almost 11 million have been forced to flee their homes.
