An online portal for victims of terrorism represents the “impressive dual achievement” of acknowledging their suffering as a human rights abuse while also providing practical information to support their recovery.

That’s the assessment of Alfred Schandlbauer, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism at the Organization of American States (OAS).

The portal is an initiative by the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF) which coordinates UN efforts on the issue, both across the UN system and with regional and international partners.

Dianne Penn asked Mr Schandlbauer about the value of the online platorm and the work of multilateral organizations in preventing and combating terrorism.
