The people of Eritrea are living in a country ruled not by law but by fear, according to a UN report released on Monday.

A UN Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in Eritrea has found that a large proportion of the population is subjected to forced labour and imprisonment, and hundreds of thousands of refugees have fled the Horn of Africa nation.

Some of these violations may constitute crimes against humanity.
