More and more countries around the world are looking at nuclear power as an alternative and sustainable source of energy according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The agency is hosting the annual Infrastructure Development Meeting on Tuesday to discuss challenges and common issues faced in introducing nuclear energy.

The meeting includes national governments, future operators, regulatory bodies and other institutions involved in nuclear power programmes.

The meeting is focusing on exchanging experiences and discussing the planning needed for creating and running a nuclear power programme or NPP.

Steve Thachet spoke to Marta Ferrari who is a nuclear engineer at the IAEA.
