Over 3 million people in South Sudan in acute need of food aid

Tens of thousands of people affected by the conflict in South Sudan have lost their livelihoods and are unable to fend for themselves.

An estimated 3.7 million people throughout the country are food insecure, according to the UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Toby Lanzer.

Speaking to UN Radio’s Robert Ohia, Mr. Lanzer said his office is set to launch a global appeal for food and non-food items in the coming days.
