United States President Barack Obama thinks the Guantánamo Naval Base camp should close but it’s still open, says the UN Human Rights Office.

According to Rupert Colville, Spokesperson for the office, some people have been there for up to 11 years without being charged, without being brought to court and without being convicted. That, he stressed, is really by any definition, arbitrary detention which is clearly in breach for international law.

UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua in Geneva asked Rupert Colville why the prison hasn’t been closed.
