The World Food Programme (WFP) says lack of funding will make it difficult to feed over two million hungry people inside Syria and more than one million refugees in neighbouring countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey.

According to Elizabeth Byrs, the agency’s spokesperson, the inability to meet the food needs inside the country will create more refugees as people are forced to leave.

Ms. Byrs explains to UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua in Geneva how much the agency needs each week to provide food assistance to Syrians.
