In commemoration of the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, observed on the 4th of April each year, UN Radio spoke to one of the brave peacekeepers who risk their lives to save others from these concealed killers.

Lieutenant Colonel Karin De Brabander from Belgium, chief of de-mining action at the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), shed light on the work UNIFIL is doing to de-mine South Lebanon.

She tells UN Radio’s Ezzat El-Ferri that activities for this year's Mine Action Awareness Day will directly involve children.
