Sixty thousand people have been killed in Syria between 15 March 2011 and 30 November 2012. That’s according to data specialists who carried out an in-depth analysis on behalf of the UN Human Rights Office.

Rupert Colville, the spokesperson for the UN Human rights office says the list included four elements – the first and last names of the victims, the date and the location of the death. If any of the elements were missing, the victim’s names were not included.

UN Radio’s Donn Bobb spoke to Mr. Colville who said that although the figure is shocking it might be even higher.
