The United Nations-backed Special Court for Sierra Leone has informed the Security Council that it will soon complete the case of former Liberian President Charles Taylor.

It is the final case related to war crimes committed during the 11-year civil war in Sierra Leone which started in 1991 and reportedly left about 50,000 people dead.
