UN agencies fear Syria could be among greatest humanitarian crises

The ongoing challenges brought on by the Syrian crisis could make it one of the biggest humanitarian emergencies in years.

That assessment comes from the UN children’s fund (UNICEF), part of the network of UN agencies and partner organizations working to assist the staggering 2.5 million Syrians who require relief assistance.

Meanwhile, a $180 million appeal for Syria remains half funded.
