The human rights situation in Syria continues to deteriorate, with innocent people trapped in the fighting between security forces and anti-government groups.

That assessment comes from UN Human Rights High Commissioner Navi Pillay, in a report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday.

She was among several speakers addressing the Council’s interactive dialogue on Syria.
