The violence in Syria can only be stopped if all parties genuinely commit to a process that will lead to dialogue.
That was the message from the head of the UN Supervision Mission in Syria (UNSMIS), Major-General Robert Mood, who spoke to reporters in Damascus on Friday.
Major-General Mood also gave an update on the mission’s deployment, and commented on recent deadly bombings which could indicate outside involvement in the ongoing conflict.
