The Geneva-based United Nations Compensation Commission today made available today payments of over $185.8 million in damage awards arising from Iraq's 1990 invasion and subsequent occupation of Kuwait.

The payments went to 22 governments and two international organizations for distribution to 1,160 successful claimants.
