New UN Ombudsman’s office to resolve staff conflicts begins work

Patricia Durrant
A new United Nations Ombudsman office established to foster conflict resolution at the workplace is now operational.

Serving as the Organization’s first Ombudsman, former Jamaican Ambassador Patricia Durrant will assist in resolving problems in the workplace by being an open, readily available and confidential source of support for staff at all levels.

As part of this effort, Ms. Durrant’s office has set up a website explaining the work of the Ombudsman, offering tips on conflict resolution, and providing a channel for confidential communications.
