Annan meets leaders of main UN organs on Nobel Peace Prize

Secretary-General Kofi Annan met today with the heads of the principal organs of the United Nations to discuss how to spend the money that came with the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the UN and Mr. Annan earlier this month.

In meetings with the Presidents of the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council and the International Court of Justice, the Secretary-General promoted an exchange of ideas "on the UN Organization's half of the Nobel Peace Prize, especially on how the UN is to be represented at the awards ceremony in Oslo in December," said spokesman Fred Eckhard.

Tonight, Mr. Annan is scheduled to fly to Geneva, where he will address the Global Employment Forum of the International Labour Organization on Thursday.
