People around the world have the right to have high expectations for the new development goals that are being finalized at the United Nations in New York this week.

That’s according to the UN, Deputy Secretary-General, Jan Eliasson.

Seventeen new poverty and sustainable development targets have been agreed, which will frame international development for the next 15 years.

They’re called the global goals, also known as the SDGs.

Daniel Dickinson began by asking Mr Eliasson if the international community should have high expectations.
