Partnerships are needed and not moralistic “grand-standing” in order to help island nations develop, according to the Prime Minister of Samoa.
Over 100 countries are currently meeting at a United Nations conference in the Samoan capital, Apia to discuss the issues faced by small island developing states or SIDS.
It’s expected that the discussions will feed into a major Climate Summit which is being held at UN Headquarters in New York at the end of September.
