‘Bold and daring’ action needed against COVID-19, WHO Goodwill Ambassador urges world leaders

Set piece speeches need to be set aside by world leaders attending the World Health Assembly this week, in favour of “bold and daring” action to end the coronavirus pandemic, according to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Goodwill Ambassador for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Health.

In an interview with UN News, James Chau, told our Chinese service editor, Maoqi Li, what he expected from the truncated annual meeting of the WHO in Geneva, taking place amid what UN chief António Guterres, described as “very little unity” so far, in terms of the right global response.
