Significant progress has been made on the HIV and AIDS fronts, but they are illnesses that cannot be forgotten.

That’s the view of UNAIDS Executive Director, Michel Sidibé, who said that for the first time, there are more people in Tanzania receiving treatment for HIV and AIDS than those still waiting for help.

UNAIDS estimates 1.5 million people there are living with HIV.

Mr Sidibé said the key to winning the epidemic is reaching adolescents.

He spoke with Stella Vuzo about progress in prevention and treatment during a recent visit to the African country.
