New WFP operation in Yemen seeks to feed millions on brink of famine

Emergency food operations are being scaled up in Yemen to assist up to nine million people in what the World Food Programme (WFP) describes as one of the world’s worst hunger crises.

Yemen is on the brink of famine and the UN agency says among those set to benefit from its new plan are more than two million children as well as breastfeeding and pregnant women.

Mustafa Al-Gamal has been speaking to Reem Nada, WFP spokesperson in Cairo.
