Africa should be looking at finding a blueprint to become economically independent and to be able to fund its own development projects; that’s according to the Deputy Minister of Finance of Zambia.

The international community is gathering in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, this week to discuss how to finance sustainable development and thus improve the quality of life for people in the world’s poorest nations.

Zambia which has a largely rural population ranks 141 out of 187 countries in the UN’s Human Development Index.

Daniel Dickinson asked Minister Christopher Mvunga what he was expecting to come out of the meeting in Addis Ababa.
