Global economy set to grow 3.5 per cent in 2015

The Global economy is expected to grow by 3.5 per cent in the coming year according to the International Monetary Fund’s 2015 World Economic Outlook.

The latest edition of the twice yearly review shows that growth is stronger in advanced economies, but weaker in developing countries.

It has been released as the IMF and World Bank are due to begin the annual Spring Meetings which brings together thousands of government officials, the private sector, civil society and academia.

Mark Bettancourt’s report from Washington DC begins with the words of Olivier Blanchard the IMF’s Chief Economist.
