An agreement has been reached on a civilian-led transitional government in Burkina Faso.

Representatives of the military, political parties and civil society have been meeting in the Burkinabe capital, Ouagadougou to resolve the political crisis there.

The country was plunged into crisis after President Blaise Campaoré attempted to change the constitution and extend his 27 year rule.

The army took control in the face of popular protests after which Mr Campaoré fled the country.

Mohamed Ibn Chambas, the UN Special Representative for West Africa has been following these talks and spoke to Derrick Mbatha on the line from Ouagadougou.
