Ebola impacts economies of West Africa: World Bank

The outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa is not only a serious health problem but is also having an impact on the economies of the affected countries.
That’s according to the World Bank, which estimates as a result of the outbreak, that the overall loss of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) across the region will be $360 million
The response to the outbreak is also putting a strain on governments’ budgets in the most seriously affected countries; Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
Gayle Young discussed the economic impact of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa with Dr. Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank Group.
