The intensity of the ongoing conflict in Darfur in Sudan has reduced in recent months, but the number of people who are fleeing their homes has increased.

That’s according to the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

The Mission also reported an upsurge in criminality.

The UN estimates that some 385,000 people have been displaced by the conflict between the Government of Sudan and armed movements in Darfur since the start of 2014.

Reem Abaza asked the UNAMID Spokesperson Ashraf Eissa for more details about the current situation.
