A diversified economy is the key to future of small island developing states, according to Ambassador of Mauritius to the UN.

At the time of independence in 1968, the economy of Mauritius was almost wholly dependent on sugar.

But that’s changed and now Mauritius has a wide range of economic activities.

Island nation off the east coast of Africa is attending the third International conference on SIDS which is being held in Samoa in the first week of September
