The World Food Programme (WFP) says that it’s determined to continue providing food assistance in South Sudan despite an attack on a UN convoy of barges on Thursday.

The convoy was delivering urgently needed food and fuel supplies to the base of the United Nations Mission in Malakal in Upper Nile State.

South Sudan continues to suffer insecurity and destabilization as government forces battle rebels loyal to the former vice president, Riek Machar.
