Sport can do more than governments to bring people together to promote peace and cooperation according to the grandson of former South African president, Nelson Mandela.

Ndaba Mandela who is a global ambassador for “Protect the Goal’’ a UN campaign to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, said that his grandfather had influenced his decision to engage in sports to advance development.

The UN’s HIV and AIDS-focused agency, UNAIDS, estimates there are 4.6 million young people living with HIV.

Joseph Msami asked Ndaba Mandela why he became involved in the campaign which is being launched globally.
