The ongoing insecurity in South Sudan has forced more than a half a million citizens to flee their homes.

To cope with this influx of people, both within and outside the country, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) is expanding existing refugee camps while establishing new ones.

South Sudan became an independent nation in 2011 but last December, clashes erupted between soldiers loyal to the government and forces supporting the former vice-president.

UNHCR’s Edith Champagne tells the story of a baby girl born during the conflict whose name, when translated, is “Problem.”
