Somali President Hassan Sheik Mohamud is calling for greater support from the international community to help the country's forces and African Union troops battle the militant group Al-Shabaab.

While he said Al-Shabaab is “on the run,” the President stressed that there needs to be a sustained global effort to defeat the terrorist group: ideologically, financially and socially.

President Mohamud is in New York for the UN General Assembly and UN Radio’s Assumpta Massoi asked him if it is possible to fully stamp out terrorism.
