[Photo: UNICEF/Kate Holt][/caption]Over the past 30 years, governments and civil society have been intensifying efforts to stamp out Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C).

A recent report from the UN children’s fund (UNICEF) shows that 125 million girls and women have already undergone the process and that 30 million more are at risk.

The report draws on data from more than 70 national surveys presents the most comprehensive compilation to date of statistic and analyses on FGM/C.
