Following extreme weather shocks and poor harvests, over eight million people in Haiti are either severely food insecure or struggling to meet their own food needs on a regular basis.

In the following interview, World Food Programme Spokesperson Elisabeth Byrs explained to UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua that WFP is pre-positioning food supplies in Haiti ahead of the storms, which can occur at any time during hurricane season, from June to November every year.
