Thursday 23 May, is the first International Day to End Obstetric Fistula.

Obstetric fistula, a medical condition of women, is described by the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) as a hole in the birth canal caused by prolonged labour without prompt medical intervention.

Dr. Babatounde Osotimehin, Executive Director of UNFPA, spoke to Gerry Adams about the condition and what can be done to correct it.
