Africa can emerge as a global economic power by using its natural resources to promote industrialization, according to this year’s United Nations report on the continent.

The report, entitled “Making Most of Africa’s Commodities: Industrialization for Growth, Jobs and Economic Transformation”, was launched at UN headquarters in New York on Tuesday.

It has been co-authored by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union.
