Invest in the future. Defeat malaria, is the theme of the global campaign for World Malaria Day 2013 and the coming years.

According to Dr Thomas Teuscher from the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, for each dollar spent in malaria control, $40 are gained in terms of productivity and household income making it a high yielding investment.

Dr Thomas Teuscher says that although significant progress has been made in malaria control, more needs to be done, especially with the threat of parasites that are resistant to existing drugs, as we hear from this interview with UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua in Geneva.
