“Solid decisions” on the protection of forests are expected to come out of the Untied Nations conference taking place in Istanbul, Turkey.

That’s the assessment of Jan McAlpine the Director of the UN Forum on Forests, as its two-week session winds down.

Representatives of governments, UN agencies, experts and activists have been discussing the importance of forests in economic development.

UN Radio’s Donn Bobb caught up with Ms. McAlpine to find out about some of the important issues on the Forum’s agenda.
