The terrorist attack that targeted Somalia’s Supreme Court on Sunday has been described by the top United Nations envoy in the country Dr. Augustine Mahiga, as one of the most tragic events in recent months.

The Al Shabaab insurgent group has claimed responsibility for the attack which reportedly killed at least 30 people, including women and a child.

Dr. Augustine Mahiga tells UN Radio’s Gerry Adams the attack was well-coordinated and well-planned but also a last-ditch attempt by a group on the run.
