American executive Susan Chodakewitz believes the UN can be a catalyst for getting more women and girls to consider careers in the aerospace industry.

Chodakewitz is President of Tetra Tech AMT, an information technology and aerospace company, and is also on the board of directors of the Women in Aerospace Foundation.

Earlier this week she participated in a UN panel held in connection with the International Day of Human Space Travel, observed on 12 April, and the 50th anniversary of the first woman in space, Russian cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova.

Dianne Penn sat down with Susan Chodakewitz to find out why more women need to be involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
